O.K. Karl Lagerfeld may not be coming to your home for Christmas dinner but he can be part of your Christmas celebrations thanks to Lenotre.
Lenotre's chef pâtissier, Guy Krenzer has teamed up with Karl Lagerfeld to create this years's traditional French Christmas dessert, la buche de Noel. La buche de Noel, a dessert made of layers of cake and filling rolled together to resemble a log, is a staple of tradional French Christmas celebrations. This year, in a nod to Franco-German cooperation and to Mr. Lagerfeld's homeland, it will involve flavors traditionally associated with German pastries including orange, ginger and cinnamon topped with chocolate. The dessert will come in a special packaging also designed by Karl Lagerfeld.
Lenotre will accept pre-orders for the dessert as of December 6th. It will be available as of December 22nd. In past years, Lenotre has teamed up with various designers including Sonya Rykiel, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Philippe Starck.
