I was positively mesmerized by the latest papparazzi shots of Sarah-Jessica Parker (aka Carrie Bradshaw) taken during the filming of an outdoor scene of the Sex And The City movie. I found myself lusting after the very sexy shoes she's wearing.
Based on the shape of the shoe and the materials used, I initially thought they could only be attributable to a handful of cutting-edge shoe designers. The candidates were: Bruno Frisoni (the very talented designer who designs the shoes and handbags for uber-chic label Roger Vivier in addition to his own eponymous line) or Pierre Hardy (who designs shoes for Balanciaga and Hermes in addition to his own eponymous line). While the heel and the overall shape of the shoe suggested to me it may be Pierre Hardy, Frisoni does have an affection for the striped ribbon detail we see here (he used it on a slingback stiletto and matching clutch a few seasons ago). But ... upon closer inspection and cross-referencing of detail shots from the Spring 2008 shows, it turns out the shoes (and several elements from her outfit) are most likely from Proenza Schouler. The shoe differs slightly from those sent down the runway by the dynamic design duo at their Spring 2008 show. Perhaps Annie at Poetic and Chic or The Luxe Chronicles' favorite shoe expert, Manolo at Manolo's Shoe Blog can weigh in with a second opinion? Quick! Name that shoe!

Yup - those beauties be Proenza Schouler... you can see them in the detail shots of the spring runway pictures on Style.com!
I must say though, Louis Vuitton did some cruise collection sandals like this a few years back - that two-tone strap action seems to be something people always like. A little bit preppy for my taste, but these are a really nice neutral color overall and I love the tottering heel!
