As fashion houses and mainstream fashion publications face the stark reality of a cancelled Golden Globes Award ceremony, an imperiled Academy Awards ceremony and consequently many empty pages to fill, The Luxe Chronicles wonders what the industry's "Plan B" will look like. For virtually two decades now, the covers and editorial pages of virtually every mainstream fashion publication have been littered with frequently dubious celebrity fashion. One would be forgiven for thinking that fashion did not exist before movie premieres and award ceremonies. While some of the coverage does in fact legitimately belong in the pages of fashion magazines, much does not and an over-reliance on celebrity culture has cheapened fashion as a whole. Perhaps it's time for fashion houses and fashion editors alike to rethink their obsession with celebrity and start showing some real style leadership. As the saying goes, in every cloud there is a silver lining. Because I'm an optimist at heart, I see this as an opportunity. I prefer to think of this cloud as having a metallic finish - very stylish and right on trend.
Sincerely,
The Luxe Chronicles

lol @ metallic finish love that cloud !!
cool insight into this whole Emmy awards /celebrities , fashion on the red carpet thing. I thought the designers sent their outfits to make the actresses choose.. so basically its the person's own style and taste that we see on the carpet. Personally i enjoy seeing styles on streets; functions and real life events thats where the style is, thanx to facehunter; the sartorialist; and all the street fashion bloggers you see all kinds of people wearing all kinds of outfits their own way. Maybe thats plan "B" Miss LC .. magazines should be filled with everyday stylish people :)

I think you bring up an excellent point about celebrities. They need to start showing more real women. Many women can't afford they celebrity style so they choose fashion jewelry and affordabe items. That is real life fashion.
