The Steinway Lyngdorf Model-D Music System, the product of an unusual collaboration between audio guru Peter Lyngdorf and the iconic piano maker, was the draw for an elite crowd that converged on Manhattan's chic Brandy Library just before the holidays. Organized for Steinway Lyngdorf by luxury marketing agent Music and Commerce for a handful of New York's well-heeled music aficionados, the event showcased the purity of sound and absolute power of what is probably the ultimate in sound systems.
Unveiled last autumn, the system can reproduce a full symphonic orchestra with no compromises in sound according to Peter Lyngdorf. To ensure the system works at optimal levels, Steinway will send a sound technician to install the system and perform a series of sound checks from various rooms in your home. As one would expect, this level of performance and service comes with a hefty price tag: The Model-D retails at $150,000 USD and only 100 units are available for purchase. So when Steinway approached Marc Hagin of Music and Commerce to organize a special evening to showcase the system, they were very specific about the profile of the guests they wanted to attend this event: a lover of music who enjoys spending time at home, has the sophistication to recognize the artistry of the Model-D and the financial means to afford it. They also needed a venue that would allow the Model-D to be appreciated at its best. For this, Hagin and his partner John Aduna selected the Brandy Library . Located in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood, the Brandy Library conjures up the warmth and exclusivity of a room in a fine country estate. With warm wood tones and countless fine cognacs, armagnacs and other fine spirits on offer, the Brandy Library was precisely the environment needed to gain a full appreciation of the Model-D.
Guests were treated to an array of fine spirits, some quite rare, while they were serenaded by the uncompromising sound produced by the Steinway Lyngdorf Model-D Music System. The perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan's feverish holiday period. For more information about the Steinway Lyngdorf Model-D Music System, please click on the link provided.
