What is the world coming to when a designer can't lend his name to a vast array of unrelated products without everyone assuming that he's willing to lend his name to just about anything? Swedish car manufacturer Volvo apparently failed to obtain permission before using camera-wielding Karl Lagerfeld look-alikes in a promotional video for its latest compact car, the C30 hatchback. Mr. Lagerfeld's attorneys contacted Volvo and the ad campaign has since been pulled. Cakes, diet books and lead figurines are one thing, but a compact car? Pas chic! Pas chic du tout! (Source)
