This post is dedicated to the many male readers of The Luxe Chronicles who care about fashion and about looking their best. On behalf of myself and most women I know, I can truly say that we do in fact notice and appreciate the efforts you make in order to look your best. Truly, we do. And being the savvy, well-informed shoppers that you are, you've probably been keeping abreast of the various mens' collections that were unveiled this past week in Milan soon to be followed by the Paris shows. In perusing the coverage of the shows, I've come across a few trends that struck me as just a little too "metrosexual" for comfort. You see, most women love their men to be well groomed and stylish but there are some trends that are better left to the runway. This is true for both men's and women's fashions of course but let's face it, women are (at least in this domain) permitted just a bit more leeway to display individuality and frivolity than men are. It's unfair I know but you'll just have to get over it for now. After all, it's not as though you don't have counterbalancing factors to compensate for this injustice such as better pay, virtually total dominance in the fields of politics, finance and business and the ability to relieve yourselves standing up. One of the trends that struck me as unfortunate and best left to the runway is the men's wedge shoe. Yes, that's right, a wedge shoe not unlike women's wedges only for men. They were unveiled at the Fendi menswear show earlier this week and let me just say, they're wrong. Very, very wrong. So please, by all means be stylish but I urge you to ignore this unfortunate trend.
Sincerely,
The Luxe Chronicles
