The unexpected demise of well-known British eccentric and patron saint of young British fashion designers Isabella Blow left a gaping hole in the world of fashion. A few of her most loyal friends and acolytes are determined to not let her be forgotten and I for one am deeply grateful. Daphne Guinness, a longtime friend of Blow and fixture on the haute couture circuit, milliner Philip Treacy (a protege of Blow) and Alice Bamford have teamed up to commission a documentary to highlight her personal style and numerous contributions to the fashion industry. They've entrusted the task to none other than Academy Award winning film producer Lili Zanuck ('Cocoon', 'Driving Miss Daisy'). The documentary is scheduled to air next Spring (2009). Proceeds will go towards establishing a sponsorship initiative in Blow's honor. I personally can't wait!
Sincerely,
The Luxe Chronicles
