Today is Labor Day in the United States. For most Americans, it's the long weekend that marks the end of Summer and the unofficial start of Fall (even though the calendar states otherwise). I know that for some, there is a bitter sweet quality to this holiday as they inevitably contemplate a return from vacation and go back to work. Not me. Fall for me is a time for new beginnings and fresh starts. I know what you're thinking. Technically, the time for new beginnings is Spring what with all the buds on the trees holding the promise of bright, shiny new leaves and newly blossomed flowers, blah, blah, blah. Speaking as someone who spent a considerable amount of time in school including university and graduate school, to me, Fall will always trigger thoughts of new beginnings. Perhaps this is due less to my association with the start of a new school year than to the promise of a fresh, new wardrobe. Having attended a uniformed school until university, I discovered rather late in life the glory of back-to-school shopping, a rite I embrace with gusto to this day. So buck up! It may be the end of Summer but it's time to revel in glorious Fall fashions. Happy Labor Day!
Sincerely,

I completely agree Helene! For me Fall signals the arrival of Fall fashion, the beautiful coats and the boots - to boot! Not to mention Fashion Week is just around the corner as millions of us will be glued to Style.com for the latest photos.
Happy Labor Day!
