Dear Readers:
It was precisely one year ago this week that I published my very first post on The Luxe Chronicles. It's only fitting then that I close out this week with a sincere, heartfelt thanks to all of you for the support, encouragement and loyalty you've shown me over the course of this tremendously satisfying year. When I began writing The Luxe Chronicles, I never dreamt for one second that I would still be here one year later. Yet, here I am, with precisely 449 posts under my Azzedine Alaia belt, readers all over Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia and new friendships and acquaintances forged from a common passion for beauty, style and elegance. For all of this, I am profoundly grateful. Thank you.
While the mood is considerably more somber than it was when I first embarked on this adventure through the blogosphere and may not exactly lend itself to celebrations, I've resolved to mark the occasion by donning my most fetching Roland Mouret frock, my favorite Christian Louboutin stilettos and opening a fine bottle of vintage Ruinart I've been saving for a special occasion. After all, if the band played on while the Titanic sank to its watery grave in the North Atlantic, the least we can do is look our best while the global economy tanks! So, I will raise my glass to The Luxe Chronicles, my loyal readers and to the future because I believe that we will make it through this current crisis and come away from it richer (spiritually at least), wiser and with a deeper appreciation for the core principles of luxury - refinement, elegance, timelessness. They may not come cheap, but they never go out of style.
