The internet has made international fashion more accessible than ever before and I for one am grateful. Fashion followers in Pretoria now have the same access as those in Paris to their favorite designers thanks to the growing presence of the fashion industry online. This said, there are distinct advantages to living in an international fashion center such as Paris, New York or in this instance, my adopted home, London. For one thing, there is a certain creative vibe (for lack of a better term) that you get from certain parts of the city. Another is Fashion Expo which takes place Wednesday, November 19 at the Business Design Centre in Islington.
Launched last year, it is a one-day event organized by City Fringe Partnership with funding from the London Development Agency. It is part trade show, part public event and seeks to showcase the tremendous fashion resources found throughout London. Fashion Expo has a strong focus on providing business support to young, emerging designers in the form of a series of workshops with practical advice on related issues such as PR on a shoestring budget, tips on taking designs to production, developing a retail strategy and other issues that often trip up talented emerging designers. There are numerous exhibitors and a runway show scheduled for the afternoon. Whether you are contemplating a career in the fashion industry or merely an avid follower of fashion, this event should not be missed. To register, please click on this link.
Sincerely,

Interesting article. It's like you read my mind, I was looking for emerging designers. Your article (and the link to the Fashion-Expo) had been very helpful.
