Dear Readers:
Christmas is coming and all this doom and gloom over the state of the economy is probably having a pretty serious dampening effect on your holiday cheer. You know things are bad when even the very wealthy are reluctant to part with their money at Christmas. What if I were to tell you that I can suggest a fantastic way to do something good for others this holiday season and all that is required of you is to click on this little link? Would that cheer you up?
A French blogger named Penelope Bagieu had the brilliant idea (no overstatement) of launching a blog called Mon Beau Sapin whereby readers can help children in need by merely showing up on the site to read comic strips donated by friends and fellow bloggers. The site is sponsored by telecom giant Orange and the number of hits over the course of the weeks leading up to Christmas will be calculated and converted to cold, hard cash. The money will then be donated to the Red Cross who will then spend the money on holiday gifts for underprivileged children throughout France. All you have to do is click on this little link to read the very cute cartoons and tell all your friends to do the same. How easy is that???? As my blogger friend Gregory Pouy would say, 'c'est top!' Should you happen to be a blogger, a mention on your site would be appreciated. Go on! Click!, Click!,Click!!
Feel better? I know I do.
Sincerely,
The Luxe Chronicles
P.S. The blog Mon Beau Sapin is uniquely in French and all money raised will be donated to the Red Cross in France. I'm pretty certain though that Penelope would have no problem if her brilliant idea were borrowed by a charitable-minded blogger in the U.K., the U.S., Canada, Italy, Spain, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brazil, Mexico, Sweden, Argentina, Nepal, (...). Just send her an e-mail first.
Great idea how generous of Orange!
