Someone at Harpo Productions obviously needs a bit of coaching on the fine art of customer service. There are stories emerging throughout the blogosphere that Oprah is selling off some of her old clothing with proceeds going to charity. Perfectly commendable, right? Yes, but apparently customers who are interested in purchasing Oprah's hand-me-downs aren't allowed to try them on first. Apparently, this is 'To preserve the integrity of the items and ensure that Oprah was the last person to wear them.'
The only way I can make any sense of this policy is if what they're selling is not actually Oprah's old clothing but rather Oprah's relics. Might I suggest they adopt the Vatican's approach and encase the precious items in a secure glass case? Better yet, perhaps they should build a reliquary to permanently house these mystically-imbued treasures so that the faithful can congregate and pray. After all, if celebrity is a cult, the faithful deserve at least a decent place of worship.
Sincerely,
The Luxe Chronicles
