I understand from different sources that Sarah Jessica Parker is currently mulling over yet another foray into fashion design. Never mind that she has no design training and that her first two forays failed (a first collaboration with mass-retailer Steve & Barry's resulted in the retirement of her Bitten line following the retailer's bankruptcy and she was "let go" as creative director of Halston Heritage due to lacklustre sales).
I've already written extensively on the many reasons why I think this is just plain wrong so rather than prattle on about it, I will simply quote the critically acclaimed, uber-talented songstress Adele. When asked in a Vogue profile whether she would ever consider venturing into other creative areas beyond music, the Grammy-award winning singer had this to say:
"No, I have absolutely no intention of going into acting or making perfumes. I am a singer. I will stick to what I am good at and not spread myself thin and become mediocre at everything I do."
Words to live by.
Sincerely,
The Luxe Chronicles
