Today marks the final day of the Paris Fashion Week schedule. I thought I would mark the occasion with this pithy quote from International Herald Tribune fashion critic and industry veteran, Suzy Menkes:
"I don't accept free gifts. The bag I'm carrying may not be very glamorous, but it is my own. And I don't wiggle into a different outfit into the back of a taxi so that I can turn up at a designer's show wearing that designer. I don't do any of that." (Industrie, Issue 5, p. 81)
Food for thought.
Sincerely,
The Luxe Chronicles
It's sad that this counts as subversive these days. It's how things SHOULD be.
