It's A Good Day For Women And Gays!

I may admire the ladylike fashion of the 1950's and 60's as my Pinterest boards will attest but I don't particularly envy the mores of that period. It's therefore with great relief that I woke up this morning to the news of an Obama victory. What's more, Republican senate candidate Todd 'legitimate rape' Akin lost to Claire McCaskill and best of all, former Harvard law professor (and a personal hero of mine) Elizabeth Warren won against Scott Brown to become the senator from Massachusetts … Is it too early to pop open the champagne?

You guys. I just had the most awkward and uncomfortable conversation with my VERY REPUBLICAN boss. I was retreating into my office, when the lady who cleans our space came in wearing a bedazzled Obama shirt with a big yellow-glittered YES on it. I was so happy, I wanted to cry.
