Ten Things To Look Forward To In 2016.

Jan 11 2016

2016

I won't lie, it's been a bit of a struggle to get back into the swing of things after the holidays. In an effort to combat my embarrassing lack of motivation, I decided to make a list of specific events I have my eye on. In no particular order, here are ten things I'm looking forward to in 2016.

1. New design directions at Dior and Lanvin and possibly at Celine too.

2. Where will Raf and Alber land next? I haven't heard anything about Mr. Elbaz but I have a very reliable source who is suggesting that Mr. Simon may be headed to the Big Apple to helm Calvin Klein. A tantalizing thought if nothing else.

3. Anne Sebba's new book Les Parisiennes: How the Women of Paris Lived, Loved and Died Under Nazi Occupation is set to hit bookstores in September. Sebba is a renowned author and historian and if her previous book, That Woman: The Life of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, is any indication, you'll want to have this one on your nightstand too.

4. Zoolander 2. Go on, admit it, you're looking forward to it. I know I am.

5. What does Natalie Massenet have in store for us post Net-A-Porter?? She's a newly minted "dame" with a non-compete clause that runs out in September 2016. Stay tuned.

6. Season 4 of The Americans is set to debut in March/April. It is by far, the best drama currently on television and given the abundance of stellar television series out there, that's saying quite a lot. Also, in case you have any doubt in the power of fashion, hair and make-up to transform not only someone's appearance but their entire identity, then watch this show.

7. Return of The X-Files. The television landscape has changed quite a lot since Scully and Mulder first teamed up to investigate mysterious occurrences and suspected government cover ups. I look forward to the storylines in our post-Snowden world. As Scully points out in the teaser, "Mulder, the Internet is not good for you.".

8. Apple is this year's Met Gala sponsor. What do seasoned fashion executives like Angela Arendt and Paul Deneuve have in store for us? Anyone who still thinks the Apple Watch is just about occupying your wrist simply isn't paying attention.

9. The AbFab movie. As if I would have left that one off my list ...

10. Madam President Hillary Clinton. Has a really nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Sincerely,

The Luxe Chronicles
